Being new to all this, and hope you do not think me stupid, how do you tell the difference between the ac model and the dc. it does not tell you on the log book. would be most happy if one could tell me. thanks jillHi,new to all this.Just brought a G Wiz second hand 11,000 mile,2005 model.New batteries fitted last year. Brought for the wife to run about now she has been told that she should not drive owing to bad eye sight by her optician,so now stuck with a G Wiz.I have a Laguna that I use,so the G Wiz is no good to me.Only brought it last week. That is life.

Welcome Jill & Trev, you'll have hours of fun in the G-Wiz although with failing eyesight its not necessarily the best car, as you will get a few pedestrians stepping out, not hearing you coming. exercise caution near schools etc!

Lets hope she doesn't kill anyone with a statement like that published on the very public WWW! :pale:

Good Luck & enjoy.

Hi all. Well she just thought that she needed new lens in her glasses, it was not until the optician gave her a test and found that she has pressor behind the eyes and if not seen to can bring on blindness (god forbid) she has got a date this month at the Royal Free for a check on her eyes so hope that goes well, but she will never drive again. She kept on saying she needed new lens, and we thought no more about it. She used to change them nearly every year. Good job she went to the optician, bad news but that is life Trev

I'm very sorry to hear that - that happened to a friend of mine a few years ago and it was devistating for her.

Whilst you can't drive a G-Wiz any more (at least in the UK, you would still be allowed to in France as they class quadricycles as licence free vehicles), you can still use an electric vehicle: an electric bicycle would give Jill some independence and allow her to get around. Okay - there is a big difference between a bike and a car, but they are licence free, a lot of fun and more practical than a normal bike for getting around.

Its a shame there aren't more innovative electric trikes around, I think the manufacturers are missing a trick there, but that's another story.

There are a big choice of makes and models of electric bikes. My personal recommendation would be an Urban Mover bike as they are well built and very reliable.

I wonder, is Southall the only place that you can get a service for the G Wiz ? If not, what places are there to get these cars seen to,only the service centre charge about £100.00 per hour for labour, nice earner that !!!
