I think you'll still be very pleased with your Trojans ST not least because of their sheer ruggedness. There are cheaper ones around but 90%+ of the US golf buggy makers specify them as OEM fitment - speaks volumes.
The autofill adaptation for the 12 volt monoblocks is certainly not insurmountable. And let's face it, the owner of an aging Wiz who decides to go the cheaper shorter range, 12 volt monoblock route will certainly be a capable DIYer |

I might be in the market for some new batteries soon so ...
...
ElectricVehicles - are the Crown batteries wet or dry ? and if wet presumably you are sure that they are compatible with the G-Wiz watering system ?
Does anyone else have experience of Crown batteries ? How robust are they ? |

Crown Batteries are totally compatable with the watering system and are supplied with exactly the same 12 month warranty as the Trojan. I have been involved in electric vehicles for 20 odd years and can assure you that I would not deal in a product that I have not got 100% faith in.
Pls rest assured -- these are a great battery at a great price |

Thanks for the quick reply and no offence intended. I'm forming a view that the G-Wiz watering system is a particular weak point.
Would you care to comment on the costs/benefits/risks of using sealed batteries ? |

@nat: just my 2¢. I strongly feel that the wet batteries offer better value for money than the gel batteries for this application, in spite of any shortcomings with the watering system. These problems can also be overcome, and you will be watching out for them now. Having said that, many of the other forum contributors are more knowledgeable on the batteries and electrics than I, so I'm happy to stand corrected. @electricvehicles is a good guy and I'm sure won't let you down either way. _________________ Marc |
