I am writing to inform you that the start of production of the REVA NXR will be delayed by a few months to early 2011. As a result of this delay we have decided to refund customer deposits for this model.

Your bank account / credit card (as appropriate) will be credited with the sum of 500 euro within 30 days under the name of Reva Electric Car Company. Kindly contact your respective bank for the same. If for any reason you do not receive this credit you may write to our Customer Care department at exports@reva-ev.com.

We will contact you by email to confirm the new date for the start of production as soon as it is confirmed.

If you have any queries please feel free to contact us at any point in time.

Sincerely

very disappointing, but a familiar story with EV companies it seems, the pitfalls of developing at the bleeding edge i guess.

hopefully they can delivery by early next year, they'd still be one of the first to market afterall.

Keith Johnston has made a statement to Autoblog Green about the delay, and he's written something specifically for the club. I will be posting it up on the forums later.

The good news is that they have taken the opportunity to further improve the NXR based on customer feedback. Fundamentally, the new car is extremely good indeed - it's well packaged, it looks good and drives very nicely indeed. Because so many governments in Europe are planning subsidies, many people are holding back on buying an electric car at the moment because they know it will be cheaper when the subsidies are available.

A good example of this is the UK, where a 25% discount (up to a maximum of £5000) will be made available as a subsidy starting 1st January, 2011. As the NXR was originally scheduled to be on sale only a few months before that, the likelihood is that very few people would have bought one before the end of the year anyway.

Hi

I'm new to the whole g-wiz thing but became intrigued now that I have a small number of daily miles to do. I started off looking at the DC which then led me to the AC which then let me to blah blah (you can see the pattern...) and I'm now looking at the NXR/NXG. Both look like amazing cars and seem much more usable/comfortable than the earlier models. However, the price tag will also scale no doubt.

There's very little info on the NXR and NXG, is there any more info you can give? Specific questions I have are:
1. Will these come in both normal and Li-ION battery options or just one?
2. Are these due to be released at around the same time?
3. Will there be a big price difference between both models?
4. How will the price compare compared to the G-Wiz i?
5. You mention discount schemes by the government, is there something you can elaborate on? What discount could or are available?

Many thanks for your help in advance.
