Hi Group. I insured my G-wiz with Swinton Insurance, only to find that I'm only allowed to use my no claim bonus on one car only, meaning that I have to build up my no claims all over again, this also means that the insurers have since asked for another £330 on top of the £110 I have already paid them. Where is the cheapest place to insure a G-wiz with out a no NCD rip off penalty? £400+ is just too big a premium for what is in effect a simple covered buggy. I bought the G-wiz to save having to buy so much petrol for my main car, but I need a sensible quote for the insurance for this to work. Any suggestions anyone? Clive )

I live in NW7 London, 1 yrs no claims, married, over 3 yrs UK drivers license, no points, over 35 yrs of age - yet it costs me over £480 fully comp w/ Direct Line or Elephant. And those are the cheapest quotes I found! So where you live is cheaper than me, if that helps!
You can always try Direct Line, they've been good in the past for people who haven't built up a second no claims bonus. If you can prove you haven't had a claim for several years, they'll quite often give you a significant 'introductionary' discount.
Alternatively, try More Than. I got an excellent quote from them for my G-Wiz - admittedly with a no claims discount - but they were around £60 cheaper than anyone else.
Here in Suffolk with no NCB (second car) I paid £85.00 for a year with Privilege!
My trick is to buy using Quidco. I change insurance company each year, because several offer substantial cashback via Quidco for new customers.......and it's paid back into your nominated bank account within a couple of months.
